Heartbreaker

The Alternative Arts Collective’s Spring’s Awakening is a show teeming with  tenderness and anguish. While taking the work seriously, TAAC’s production also fully embraces the funny moments Frank Wedekind built into his play. The show  raises questions and pokes fun at the pressures faced by adolescence as well as their parents in a society confused about sex and morality, and audiences are sure to identify with the muddling parents or curious teens.

To give you an idea of the range of emotion encompassed in this dark comedy, directed by TAAC’s Richard Spierto, here’s a sneak preview of some great moments in the show.

Spring’s Awakening opens tonight at the Wilkerson Theatre, 25th & R in Sacramento and runs through August 7. Tickets are $15 and are available at the box office 1/2 hour before curtain. To purchase tickets in advance (with a minimal fee) go to http://www.brownpapertickets.com. Please note, due to explicit sexual content, this show may be inappropriate for younger audiences.
